Mille Lacs Lake is famous for it's trophy Walleye and Smallmouth Fishing. The best walleye bite is from opener through the end of June. That said, the walleye can be convinced to bite throughout the summer when you know where to look. The Mille Lacs Smallmouths average 17 inches and better with many 6 lb fish caught each summer , the smallmouth bass bite is good all summer long.

Lodging
I recommend Hunter Winfields because this is a family run resort that can meet all Lodging needs. They have small inexpensive cabins for those that just need a place to crash to big beautiful log cabin lodges that can accommodate big groups of 8-10 people and are loaded with Amenities. They have a wonderful long dock with a fishing pier and are right next to the city park and swimming area. They are also only 1 block from the town of isle, so you can walk to town to shop or relax.
